Chain Top Bin Trailer – Five Bin Capacity

Chain Top Bin Trailer #1
Chain Top Bin Trailer #2

The LaGasse Orchard www.lagasseorchard.com Chain Top Bin Trailer is towed (or pushed) by a Tractor with a rear (or front) three-point hitch and is designed to quickly and efficiently pick up, transport and place from one to five 20 bushel Bins. This Bin Trailer will work with plastic or wood Bins without bottom slats.

Operation

  • While backing toward the Bin, Chain Top Rails are centered on the Bin and the Tail of Bin Trailer is lowered (hydraulically) to the ground so that Forks at the ends of Chain Rails pass into spaces between bottom runners of the Bin
  • While backing into the Bin, the Bin Transport Chain Hydraulic Motor is engaged to ONLOAD and pull the Bin up and onto the Rails
  • Once the Bin or Bins have moved onto the Chain Top Rails far enough, the slope of the Trailer can be leveled and positioned at approx. 15 inches above the ground for travel into or out of the orchard
  • When unloading Bins, the Tail of the Bin Trailer is lowered to the ground and the Bin Transport Chain Hydraulic Motor is engaged to OFFLOAD. As a Bin makes contact with the ground, the Tractor pulls the Bin Trailer slowly ahead so as to place Bins to touch end-to-end
  • When the Chain Top Bin Trailer is used to service a picking crew, the Chain Top Rails can be lowered flat to the ground so that, when the Trailer is stationary, the Bins on the Trailer are only 3 inches higher than if they were resting directly on the ground

Running Gear features four 20.5 x 8 x 10 flotation tires running on tapered roller bearing Spindles on heavy plate Walking Beams mounted to a solid shaft Main Axle.

Chain Drive tension is easily adjusted at the Nose of the unit.

Hydraulic lift features are configured so as to allow pickup of Bins in nearly all hill/swale situations.

Overall dimensions of Chain Top Bin Trailer are approx. 26’-4” long by 5’-10” wide by 2’-4” high.

Frame and subassemblies are powder coated.

Bin Trailer comes complete with Hydraulic Cylinders, piping, and hoses; Hoses to/from Tractor are provided with quick couplers.

Three Hydraulic Control Circuits are required on your Tractor for operating the Chain Top Bin Trailer:

  • Axle Subassembly Hydraulic Cylinder RAISE/LOWER as a Selective Control Valve
  • Tongue Hydraulic Cylinder RAISE/LOWER as a Selective Control Valve
  • Chain Drive Hydraulic Motor ONLOAD/OFFLOAD as a Selective Control Valve
